Palladian Partners, an Altarum company, is looking for a Senior Digital Project Director to support high profile federal clients with strategic science and health communications planning and public health communication projects. This person will be responsible for working directly with clients, developing and planning strategic digital projects and initiatives while working as part of an integrated project team with federal and non-government partners. The candidate should have a solid understanding of the intersection of digital strategy and traditional communications, as well as promotion and evaluation methods. Candidates must have deep practice in client management and supervisory experience. To be successful in the role, the candidate must be flexible, have attention to detail and an ability to maintain a positive relationship with demanding clients.


Here’s what you’ll be doing

  • Work with clients to define overall health communications objectives, develop digital strategies, and KPIs
  • Create strategies for communicating with stakeholders and advocates through digital communications channels, understanding audience behaviors and needs
  • Develop innovative communications strategies that utilize web, social media and other media platforms, aligned with user needs and behavior
  • Serve as liaison with internal specialists and areas, including content strategy, UX, graphic design, web development and editorial staff to establish workflows and timelines
  • Collaborate with team members to identify client needs and generate forward-thinking ideas to engage with targeted audiences to share information
  • Oversee the creation of various forms of content for digital communication materials, according to industry best practices
  • Monitor and track project resources, deliverables and deadlines
  • Review and evaluate the work of team members to ensure the highest standards of quality, staying abreast of industry trends and incorporating them into work streams


  • At least 8 years of project management and customer relationship management, experience leading digital projects and teams, and proposing and implementing strategy
  • A minimum of 12 years work experience, and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience directly supervising staff
  • Understanding of UX principles, design thinking, content strategy and data analysis
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively, and manage risk
  • Familiarity with agile project management
  • Experience developing work plans and specifications, understanding resource allocations and budgeting
  • Experience with health communications and partnerships with advocacy organizations is a plus
  • Collaborative–team player who works well as a manager and member of a matrix environment
  • Flexible—willing to do the nitty-gritty work required to make a project successful
  • Positive—ability to collaborate with and promote a positive relationship between colleagues, partners, and clients
