Palladian Partners, an Altarum company based in Silver Spring, MD, provides comprehensive communications support services to some of the biggest names in biomedical, public health, and criminal justice research. We're looking for an outstanding Web Content Editor to join our team. We hire people who have strategic vision, love to collaborate, and want to lead projects that help improve people’s lives.

Responsibilities

As a Web Content Editor you will use your advanced knowledge of web and mobile communication strategies to help clients meet their strategic goals. You will be a significant contributor to large digital projects, informing the overall approach, budget, and timeline. You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires great attention to detail and the ability to maintain a positive relationship with demanding clients. As part of our Editorial department, you will work with a team of health and science writers and content specialists, and will collaborate with federal and non-government partners. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment and managing and executing many tasks simultaneously. Successful candidates will:

  • Develop and manage project schedules using project management tools, keeping management apprised of progress, changes, and potential obstacles
  • Serve as the primary client liaison for web content-related tasks and activities on a day-to-day basis
  • Edit/proofread health and science content, including webpages as well as online products such as newsletter articles, fact sheets, press releases, leadership messages, and feature stories
  • Contribute knowledge about content strategy to the team’s overall digital strategy, including identifying needs and proposing solutions
  • Support special projects on an as-needed basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field, or other bachelor’s degree with equivalent relevant work experience
  • Five to seven years of experience, at least three of which include managing editorial projects and websites
  • Experience writing and editing health content for a variety of audiences
  • Superb client management and customer service skills, including producing clear, error-free correspondence and the ability to articulate strategies and solutions in meetings
  • Experience working with creative and technical staff members, communicating your vision, and understanding project limitations
  • Ability to work comfortably under pressure and to organize, track, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines, including development of project schedules and timelines
  • Understanding of content strategy and familiarity with web writing best practices
  • Ability to learn quickly, respond/react rapidly to changing priorities, and be dedicated to completing all tasks
  • Outstanding editing and proofreading skills, including familiarity with plain language and use of editorial style guides
  • Experience with web metrics and SEO, with a clear understanding of how they factor into web content strategy
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively
  • Experience using content management systems to update website content
  • Solid MS Office skills

You’ll earn bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working in a government contracting environment
  • Experience working in Drupal
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and remediation
